Who we are

We are mostly me - Brian Hawkins. The Extreme Ezine is my baby. Without getting all gushy, I have a lot of pride in this publication and I even feel close to my subscribers. Originally started on October 2003 as a bi-monthly newsletter from a free site hosted on GEO Cities, the Ezine has taken on many forms, adopted by a couple different sites until recently in September of 2006 she moved to an independent site. The Extreme Ezine has endured many ups and downs including a server crash, a hosting company taking the money and running and the huge move to AWeber our new list management company. These were major setbacks to the point that we all but started over several times. I don’t mean to say AWeber was a setback, it was definitely a huge improvement but we did loose hundreds of subscribers with the change. I love the improvements that the move to AWeber has allowed us make. The experience has been greatly improved for both the subscribers and us and my only regret is that I hadn’t started out with them in the first place.

What We Offer

An Ezine is an electronic newsletter that’s normally delivered directly to your inbox. The Extreme Ezine is a newsletter that is published every week or so on no certain schedule. If we don’t have a worthwhile issue we don’t send one. We specialize in the online marketing niche and our expertise in the various methods of internet advertising is extensive.

Our subscribers consist of mainly internet marketers, affiliate marketers, site and small business owners. They also have a higher than average intelligence because they read our Ezine - just seeing if you’re still reading :)

We offer our readers relevant information, tips, suggestions, resources, contests, free downloads, jokes and quotes. The Extreme Ezine is sent in an attractive HTML format with an alternate text version for those that can not receive HTML in their email. The Extreme Ezine is also now published in RSS/XML feed.  Subscribe in a reader Each issue is archived on this site for quick reference.

We make it a point not to overwhelm our subscribers. We never send solo ads. We don’t shoot off an email every time another marketer launces a new product or every time we join an affiliate program. If it’s not something that I’d like to see in my own inbox I don’t send it - period!

About The Editor

Brian HawkinsWho is Brian Hawkins? I’m a forty two year old American in Belleville, MI USA. I’m a self proclaimed internet marketer and proud to be one. My second focus is on site promotions and I love to show others what I’ve learned. I’m not afraid to express myself even when it upsets a lot of people. I’ve shown in the Ezine and my Blog that I’m not afraid to name names and point fingers if it exposes a scam and I can even be a little sarcastic once in a while Very Happy Smiley - LOL
THAT’S RIGHT - I SAID IT

I’ve been married to a lovely lady named Kim for 24 years and we have four grown children that we’re very proud of. Two boys and two girls. We have three perfect Grandsons so far and hope to have more Grandchildren someday.

I have over 80 domains right now but I hope to reduce that to twenty or so very soon. I have about a dozen sites that I own and run with about five or six that directly associates with the Extreme Ezine. During my free time I nap for twenty minutes because that’s all the time I have left Very Happy Smiley - LOL

One last thing, I’m having a blast and have never been happier.

Your online Marketing Advisor,
Brian Hawkins

Site Updates:

Dec. 01, 2007  We’ve updated every page for a cleaner and easier to navigate site. One major change was the elimination of subscriber test ads. We no longer offer text ads on Extreme Ezine including free subscriber ads. This decision was based on several issues including the time maintaining the ads, the dead links generated from out dated ads, and the spam from non-subscribers. We will continue to look for and add new valuable services for our subscibers in the future.

May 21, 2007  New Subscriber’s Area - This has to be our biggest update in a very long time. We have purchased a top of the line membership script from EasyMemberPro. Now subscribers can access downloads, specials and submit their free subscriber ad directly from the member’s area. You can also send us a note and even submit your testimonial from there. The password will change with each issue and we’ll include the new password with each ezine so you can access new products and content. So grab the current password and login here: http://members.extremeezine.com/index.php

Apr. 16, 2007  Ezine Delivery - Our ezine started in regular text format until we began offering an HTML version some time ago. Now we’re offering our publication online. Each issue you will receive a short email from us with a link to our latest issue. Why the change? Read this Blog post.

Feb. 18, 2007  New Look - Have you noticed the new header graphic above? Can you believe we only paid $2.19 for it? It was an Ebay purchase and there are more available if you need a professional graphic for the lowest cost I’ve seen. Auction ended

Jan. 18, 2007  We will no longer accept PayPal as a payment option for our advertising services. We now accept AlertPay and SafePay Solutions. If you require another option, please contact us with the details.

PayPal seems to be unable to distinguish the difference between a legitimate opt-in service and spam. So to avoid problems, we have decided to remove PayPal from our site.

01-04-2007  In the interest of quality content and our sincere desire to publish the most unique and valuable Ezine possible, we have decided to discontinue our Solo Ad program. We would like to thank the advertisers that have purchased solo ads in the past.

If you still desire solo advertising, which we will be the first to admit that it’s a very effective advertising method, we’ll refer you to our recommended service at:

Solo-Ads.com

12-25-2006  New Feature: We have add a new feature to the Extreme Ezine called: ‘Famous Advertising Slogans, Mottos and Taglines’. Each issue we’ll include a few classic or famous mottos that you may enjoy hearing again. Feel free to submit your favorites.

12-18-2006  We are proud to announce that we’ve setup a new subscriber’s area. It’s password protected and the password will change and be published with each issue.

You will now be able to download your subscriber gifts, find special offers, receive unannounced bonus gifts and even submit your testimonials all from the new subscriber’s area.

11-26-2006  We removed the Google Ads from this site and replaced it with an in-house  banner rotator. We will begin offering banner advertising once we have completed our testing.

11-25-2006  We’re getting the site better organized. Our pages were getting a little cluttered so we added three new pages: About Us, FAQ and Resources.

11-22-2006  We started a Yahoo Group to supplement our Extreme Ezine archives. We’ll add short tips and extras there and archive the main issues right here on this site as always.

You don’t have to have a Yahoo account to subscribe. Send a blank email to ExtremeEzine-subscribe@yahoogroups.com

10-21-2006  With the fast growth of the Extreme Ezine we have found it necessary to upgrade our list management service. We are moving our list over to AWeber Communications, Inc. AWeber is one of the best, if not the best, mailing list management companies available and we look forward to many years with them.

10-20-2006  Have you noticed an increase in Extreme Ezine activity? That’s because we are on a fast past-paced course to becoming one of the top Online Marketing newsletters on the net. With that popularity comes a huge increase in advertising requests, joint venture offers and submitted content. We actually reject most of these but if you’re interested in knowing how we have come to terms with our quick growth read our Blog post: Ezine Content -vs.- Advertising Keeping It Balanced

10-11-2006  In order to simplify things, we have set-up a separate form for our subscriber’s free on-site text advertising. Link Removed

09-24-2006  We begin offering subscribers free advertising in the form of On-site Block Text Ads. Now every subscriber can have their three line plus URL text ad rotated throughout the ExtremeEzine.com website. Go here for the details and here to submit your ad. links removed

09-18-2006  The new site launches. The Extreme Ezine has undergone a complete redesign, including the URL. We have completed the transfer our of Ezine site and archives to a separate site dedicated to the Extreme Ezine. Due to the recent growth and expansion of the publication, we decided we could better serve our subscribers with this change. The Extreme Ezine is still a Common Sense Communications Inc. publication derived from Extreme Site Promotions.

05-06-2006  We had moved our Extreme Ezine to it’s own site. The site was originally just a sales page with the intention of eventually moving the entire section including the archives.

05-06-2006  We began giving new subscribers free high quality software as an incentive to subscribe. To retain those subscribers we decided to give free downloads in the form of software and e-books with every issue.

01-05-2005  The Extreme Ezine gets a new home more to it’s liking - ExtremeSitePromotions.com

09-17-2004  Our first move. We were in the big times now! We finally had our own domain - CSC4U.com The Ezine ran on a sub-domain called ‘Extreme Site Promotions’. The ‘Extreme Ezine’ influenced the name of our new sub-domain that would be run independently from CSC4U.com

10-21-2003  The birth of ‘The Extreme Ezine’! Our Ezine actually started as a bi-monthly newsletter from a free site hosted on GEO Cities.
